Step 1: Complete Your KYC

Before you can buy cryptocurrency on any reputable exchange, you will need to complete a process called KYC (Know Your Customer). This is mandatory for new customers and is in regulations with anti money laundering regulations. For the Tap KYC procedure you will need to submit the following:

  • Country
  • Selfie
  • Proof of Identity

You’ll be guided through each step by the intuitive app (as per images below). The process won’t take more than a few minutes, and once completed you will receive an email with a submission confirmation and a tracking number. To check on the status of your application, you can go to the Setting feature of the app and enter the tracking number. Once your KYC application has been approved, you will receive a confirmation via email and all the features of the app will be available.

Step 2: Load Your Account With Money

In order to buy cryptocurrency you will need to load your Tap Cash Wallet with Euros. In order to do so click the Add Money icon (blue circle with a plus sign, as per image below) and select the Cash, Add via Bank Transfer option.

From here you will be given banking details of the Tap Global account, to which you can make your transfer. Be sure to have a look at the current price of the cryptocurrency you would like to buy and transfer an amount that correlates with how much of that cryptocurrency you would like to purchase. Once the transaction is complete the funds will appear in your Tap Cash Wallet (under Assets on the homescreen).

Step 3: Buy Cryptocurrency

Depending on which cryptocurrency you are looking to buy (Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin or all of the above), you will select the relevant cryptocurrency from the list. Under Assets on the home screen, select Crypto, then select the cryptocurrency you want to purchase. Select the blue Options button and this will take you to the relevant crypto wallet pages (see below).

Select the Buy option and the Tap App will scan through available order books and reputable exchanges online to find you the best price. Enter the amount that you would like to purchase and the app will calculate the total (including network fees). Once you are happy with the price and amount, select Confirm Trade. You will receive an email confirming your transaction, once you have confirmed, the transaction will be processed.

Step 4: Check Balance

Depending on the network, your cryptocurrency will soon be added to the relevant wallet which you can view from the home screen (under Assets).
